Litang

Litang Estate is one of the commercial estates fully managed by the SLDB. Located about 68 km from Lahad Datu town the estate was established in 1992 through the ‘Graduate Farming Programme’. The estate was designed with a landscape approach since it comprised of 30 percent hilly, the existing hilly area was cultivated with low maintenance tree crop like Sandal wood, locally known as Gaharu tree. The Gaharu tree is also integrated into the adjacent forested area, where some are planted with the palm oil tree mainly on the sloping area as a measure to protect the soils from erosion.
